Keeping your will safe It is crucial that your will is stored safely and is readily accessible so that you don’t die officially “intestate”, where no valid will was found to be used following your passing. Your executors need your will to be undamaged, and within easy access when the time comes, so you need to store it safely and somewhere where other people won’t be able to access it before the required time. If your will cannot be found, or if it is damaged in any way, your executors will not be able to guarantee that your wishes will be instigated and the people that you want to benefit from your state will not be able to do so in the manner in which you have laid out.
