Storing your will Being able to safely store and easily locate your will could mean the difference to making a legally valid will that can be accessed and used right away, or dying “intestate” meaning that there was no will or that no will could be found. Your will needs to be stored in a safe place where people can’t randomly find it, but where your executors will have ready access to it when the time comes and they need it. If your will cannot be found, or if it is damaged in any way, your executors will not be able to guarantee that your wishes will be instigated and the people that you want to benefit from your state will not be able to do so in the manner in which you have laid out. It might be a good idea to store your will with the probate service, a separate solicitor or with our own storage service for wills – we can advise you on the best option.
